  • A first appointment for children, young people and young adults (and their family or carers). We get to know your child or young person, hear what matters at home, school, day program or work, and look at how everyday tasks are going. Together we set practical NDIS goals and a clear plan for occupational therapy. Ideal if you are new to OT, starting or reviewing a plan, or wanting a fresh look at supports.

  • Regular OT sessions that build skills for real life — play, self-care, schoolwork, routines, friendships, emotional regulation, organisation and growing independence. Sessions can include the young person, family and support workers, and are adapted for age and stage, from early childhood through to young adulthood. We work on what helps this week and what will help next year.

  • A detailed OT assessment of how your child or young person’s disability affects everyday function at home, school, work and in the community and toward work or further study. The report outlines current strengths and support needs, and recommends NDIS supports (including therapy and assistive technology where relevant) for plan reviews.

  • A standardised OT assessment of how a child, teen or young adult notices, responds to and seeks sensory input — sound, touch, movement, vision, taste/smell and body awareness. We use a recognised sensory profile tool plus observation and family or self-report to explain everyday patterns (for example, overwhelm in busy classrooms, picky eating, constant movement, or avoiding certain clothes). You receive clear findings and practical strategies for home, school and the community, which can also support NDIS planning and team recommendations.

Who We Work With

We work with children, teenagers and young adults, and the people who support them at home, school and in the community.

This includes young people who:

  • have an NDIS plan, or are exploring NDIS supports

  • need help with daily routines, play, schoolwork or growing independence

  • find emotions, sensory input or busy environments hard to manage

  • need assessment and clear recommendations for family, school or plan review

We regularly support families where there is autism, ADHD, developmental delay, intellectual disability, sensory processing differences, or other disability that affects everyday function. A formal diagnosis is not always required to start.

We also work alongside:

  • parents and carers

  • schools and educators

  • support coordinators

  • support workers

  • other therapists (speech therapists, physiotherapists, behaviour support practitioners, etc.)

Sessions can be based at home, at school or day program, in the community, or via telehealth, depending on what best supports the young person.

About Jakk Walsh OT

Jakk Walsh is an Occupational Therapist based in Melbourne, with extensive experience working with children and young people in specialist (SDS) settings, mainstream schools, and through the NDIS.

In schools he has supported students of all ages and with a wide range of disabilities, with the goal of empowering them to find independence and autonomy in everyday life. Whilst at SDS he led multidisciplinary teams in his role as Therapy Team Leader. In addition to coordinating health professionals, the role necessitated collaboration with children’s families and other members of their care team.  

Recognising the strain that chronic needs can place on families, Jakk founded a remote NDIS practice. The practice allows families to access quality practical, goal-focused occupational therapy without needing to travel. All of his work is client-centred and grounded in current, research-informed practice.

Alongside ongoing therapy, he completes sensory profile assessments on a consultative basis. These assessments help families and schools understand a child’s sensory needs and plan a supported return to school.

Jakk works with children, teenagers and young adults, and welcomes contact from families, schools and support coordinators seeking clear, practical OT input.

Jakk completed a Bachelor’s of Applied Science and a Master’s of Occupational Therapy Practice from La Trobe University
